Skill Development Training
Objective :
The objective of the project is to develop skills in the manufacture of footwear / leather goods and to promote the good industry.
Details
  • 60 days skill development training will be given to the artisans in footwear/ leather goods making.
  • Unit cost for each training program is Rs. 10.50 Lakhs.
  • In order to continue their profession leather stitching machine and tool kit will be provided apart from Stipend of Rs. 6000/-
Skill Upgradation Program
Objective :
The objective of the project is to develop the human resource in skin technology in the state and thereby contribute to the development of the skin industry.
Details
  • Under this Scheme the youths from artisans community who have passed SSLC/PUC/Degree are being deputed to different short term and long term courses run by CFTI/CLRI Chennai and Karnataka Institute of Leather Technology Bangalore, in order to upgrade their skills in Leather Technology, Footwear/Leather Goods making, Designing etc.,
  • Entire expenditure of these courses will be borne by the corporation. Stipend also will be given during course period.

Common criterias for the selection of beneficiaries

Required Eligibility
  • Aspirants should be leather artisans belongs to sub-castes Arundathiyar, Chammadiya, Chamar, Chambar, Chamagar, Madar, Madig, Madiga, Mini Madig, Jambavalu, Haralayya, Machigar, Mochigar, Mochi, muchi, Telugu Mochi, kamaati mocha, Rohidas, Dhor, kakkayya, Kankayya, Samagara, Samagar, Aadhi Anddra, Aadhi Dravida, Aadhi Karnataka among schedule castes.
  • Aspirants from Aadhi Dravida, Aadhi Karnataka and Aadhi Andhra should furnish a self-declaration letter that mentions their sub-caste.
  • The minimum age requirement is 18.
  • Annual family income should be 30,000 or less in rural areas and 25,000 or less in urban areas.
  • The income limit for living cum work-shed construction scheme is Rs.32,000 - in rural areas and Rs 87,600 - urban areas.
  • No one applying for these schemes or their family members has ever taken other benefits under any other schemes from our corporation (except Training/Paaduke kuteera schemes).
  • None of the members of the applicants family should have employed either in Government / semi Government Organizations.
  • To avail benefits under Kayaka Spoorthi Scheme, Minimum of 10 female Artisans should have a self-help group.
  • Representation for female Artisans shall be reserved at 33% across the schemes.
  • Representation for physically Challenged candidates shall be reserved at 5% across the schemes.
  • According to Government orders, terms and conditions shall be applicable.
Required Documents
  • Aadhar Card
  • Caste certificate with RD number
  • Valid annual income certificate.
  • Ration Card.
  • Passport Size photograph of the Applicant and his/her spouse.
  • E-Shram Card (Only for Profession-cobbler/shoe Maker)
  • The first page of your bank passbook is in the name of SHG (Only for Kaayaka Spoorthi scheme).
  • Detailed Project Report (only for self-employment programs).
  • Driving license issued by RTO(Only for Sanchari Marata Malige Scheme).
  • Site Khatha Certificate (Only for Housing Scheme).
  • Profession certificate/skill test certificate that is issued by Technical section committee of the Corporation.
  • Loan Documents (Only for Direct loan and Kayaka Spoorthi Scheme).
Implementation Method :
  • Applicants can apply through Suvidha/Seva Sindhu portal suvidha.karnataka.gov.in or sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in by completing an application online.
  • District Co-Ordinator shall verify the applications, prepare a list of eligible applicants, and present a list to the concerned MLAs for their recommendations . then the District level selection committee will then make a decision on who will be selected.
  • The District Level Selection Committee is headed by the Joint/Deputy Director. Social Welfare Department with the following members :
  • a) District Manager, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Development Corporation - Member.
  • b) District Co - Ordinator, LIDKAR - Member Secretary.
  • District Committee Officers are responsible for the selection of beneficiaries. This list must then be submitted to the Head Office seeking an administrative approval.
  • The list will be put up on the notice boards of respective units, after obtaining administrative approval by The Managing Director for further implementation.

Duration : 3 years

KARNATAKA INSTITUTE OF LEATHER TECHNOLOGY, ULLAL UPANAGAR, BANGALORE

Certificate course in Footwear/ Leather Goods making

Duration : 1 year
Eligibility : SSLC pass

KARNATAKA INSTITUTE OF LEATHER TECHNOLOGY, ULLAL UPANAGAR, BANGALORE

Post Graduate Diploma in Footwear Technology

Duration : 18 months
Eligibility : Any Degree

CENTRAL FOOTWEAR TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE, GUINDY, CHENNAI.

16 ½ Months and 1 ½ Months at Italy

Certificate course in Footwear/ Leather Goods making

Duration : 1 year
Eligibility : SSLC pass

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY, CHENNAI CAMPUS

Entire expenditure of these courses will be borne by the corporation. Stipend also will be given during course period.

General qualifications :
  • Leather artisans must belong to a family of Scheduled Castes belonging to the Madiga, Samagara, Mochi, Dora and other sub castes engaged in tannery work.
  • Must be a resident of Karnataka.
  • The District Committee shall function under the Chairmanship of the Joint Directors / Deputy Directors, Department of Social Welfare with the following members
  • After selecting the beneficiaries, the above committee will submit the list of district coordinators of the corporation to the head office after getting confirmation.
  • The implementation of the plan is to be followed by the administrative approval of the Managing Director of the selection list and the publication of the selection list in the respective District Units Notification Panel.
Implementation Method :
  • Applications should be submitted online through Suvidha/Seva Sindhu portal .
  • suvidha.karnataka.gov.in/sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in and submit application online.
  • Lidkar District Co-Ordinator shall verify the applications, prepare the list of eligible applicants, bring it to the notice of concerned MLA’s and submit before the District level selection committee.
  • The District level selection committee is headed by Joint/Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department with the following members :
  • a) District Manager, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Development Corporation- Member.
  • b) Lidkar District Co - Ordinator - Member Secretary.
  • After selection of the beneficiaries by the District level selection committee, Lidkar DCO’s shall submit the approved list to Lidkar head office.
  • After getting Administrative approval from Managing Director, the list shall be published on the notice board of the concerned unit and after that , the scheme shall be implemented.
